5 - The student spends allotted time on task, and provides a sense of direction for the rest of the class and/or group to follow. Participates in discussions, yet is not overwhelming to other students.
4 - The student spends most time of the allotted time on task. He/she helps to make a generous contribution to the rest of the class and/or group. The student also demonstrates that he/she takes the opinions of others into account when providing personal insights for a discussion.
3 - The student misuses some of the allotted time for the task. Contributions to the class/group are present, but not very substantive. The student provides no help for fellow classmates.
2 - The student spends minimal time on task. He/she is also a distraction to fellow classmates. Discussion contributions, if any, exhibit little thought or preparation.
1 - The student does not spend time on the task at hand. He/she is a
distraction to the rest of the class.
