As we learn the impact of oil spills on our oceans, you will be assessed by several different means. These means are as follows:

* each team must submit the answers to "Investigating Oil Spills."

(10 points each/total = 70)

*each team must submit a minimum of a one type-written page paper supporting the

ideas and facts which they encountered during their research. For this part of the

assignment, you will be graded as follows . . .

Exemplary (20 pts.)

Facts and ideas are stated crystal clear.

Examples are given.

Grammar and sentence structure are error-free.

Above Average (15 pts.)

Facts and ideas are expressed in great detail.

Grammar and sentence structure is satisfactory.

Average (10 pts.)

Facts and ideas are reflected upon minimally.

Grammar and sentence structure has minimal errors.

Below Average (5 pts.)

Facts and ideas are insignificantly reflected upon and make little sense.

Grammar and sentence structure is lacking.

* each team must complete a ten to fifteen minute presentation illustrating the fact they

encountered during their research period. For this part of the assignment, you will be

graded as follows . . .

* each team member must submit a self assessment describing their contributions for

providing a team effort in the planning of their presentation. Assessment addresses the

following questions . . .

- How well or "not well" did your team work together?

- What was your part in preparing for the presentation?

- If you could have changed anything, what would it have been?

- Out of twenty points, how many points do you believe you deserve? Why?
