New Islanders

One summer, you are invited to go on a two week cruise on the Pacific Ocean. Midway through the vacation, the weather unexpectedly takes a turn for the worst. The wind picks up as dark clouds cover the once sunny sky. The boat is jarred by increasingly higher and more dangerous waves. The crew attempts to move everyone to a safe location on the boat, but it is too late. The storm has hit full force. The only hope for survival is to flee on the life boats. You and 5 other passengers, all strangers, safely climb aboard a raft and jump ship.

It is hours before the storm finally quiets down and the sun once again peeks through the sky. By this time your raft is far from the ship, far from anything. You are surrounded by water. For days you float aimlessly in the Pacific, not sure of where you are or where you are heading. Then, one of the passengers finally spots land! You are all overjoyed at the idea of being rescued. But, when you reach the land, your happiness subsides when you realize there is no civilization. Your raft has landed on a deserted island.

Once you step onto the beach, everyone explores the island to see what type of place you are on. There is a little tropical wooded area that covers the entire island. There are various forms of wildlife and a stream of water in the forest that leads to a little pond. You and your companions must begin building a place where you can live for an indefinite amount of time (you are not sure when and if you will be rescued). Now you have the opportunity to decide what kind of people you would like on the island with you. You can choose the occupations of the five people who you will be living with. Remember, you need to be able to survive on this island, so choose the occupations wisely!
