Titanic's Montage
The students will communicate effectively with their fellow students in the discussion session.

magazines

Procedures:
2. Each student will have the opportunity to go the library to find different materials to use in their montage.
3. Each student will cut out words and pictures from the various magazines and/or copies from library books to illustrate the specific aspect of the Titanic they have chosen.
4. Each student will glue the items that they cut out onto a piece of construction paper.
5. Each student will have to explain to the class the significance of their montage in reference to the aspect that they have chosen.
6. The students will be given the opportunity to comment on the montages.
7. Each of the students will hang their montages on the new bulletin board for display.
Assessment:
Each student must actively participate in the discussion session. Criteria for success: Each student must give a clear explanation of his/her montage and its significance as well as have the opportunity to speak to the class during the discussion session or listen intently. This will be evaluated on the participation rubric.

Art - using this project as a creative outlet for their ideas based on the Titanic
Possible Extensions:
Have the students create a montage about their own heritage which is based on a previous lesson.
