Reflective Journal

 

Each student will be given a separate lined notebook in which to write their thoughts, questions, and new information learned on oceanic volcanoes. This journal will be collected periodically to determine if the student is enjoying learning about the content area and if there are more questions which need to be answered regarding one aspect of a lesson previously taught. Some type of journaling will most likely take place every day, but the instructions and intensity will vary. The purpose of this component of our curriculum is to allow the students to express their thoughts in written form without having to worry about perfect spelling, grammar, etc. The journal entries will also assist in determining the direction our curriculum will take according to student interest.
