Teacher’s Guide to Newspaper Activity

  1. The class will be broken up into groups of four.
  2. Each group will be assigned to construct a newspaper on the slave trade from one of three perspectives:
    1. African
    2. European
    3. American

 

 

  1. After being assigned a perspective each team will research their continent and write articles concerning the following: (All of the following must be included.)
    1. trade (imports and exports)
    2. economic results (bad or good) charts and or tables
    3. attitudes toward other countries involved in trade
    4. overall effects of the slave trade
  2. Each group will be expected to include historical information and document at least two different sources.
  3. Remember: your paper may contain biases or opinions from your own regional perspective.
