Teachers Guide to Newspaper
Activity
- The class will be broken up into groups of four.
- Each group will be assigned to construct a newspaper on the
slave trade from one of three perspectives:
- African
- European
- American
- After being assigned a perspective each team will research
their continent and write articles concerning the following: (All
of the following must be included.)
- trade (imports and exports)
- economic results (bad or good) charts and or tables
- attitudes toward other countries involved in trade
- overall effects of the slave trade
- Each group will be expected to include historical information
and document at least two different sources.
- Remember: your paper may contain biases or opinions from your
own regional perspective.
