As a group of professional educators, we will work to develop a curriculum that enriches and inspires in middle school students a love of learning and a desire for involvement. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to utilize their gifts and talents in an environment that insures academic success and encourages discovery of self. We will strive to foster independent and collaborative learning while piquing students' interests in the oceans and the treasures they hold. By integrating the major content areas we hope to show the students that what they learn in school is relevant and applicable outside of the classroom. As a team, we will accomplish these goals through reciprocity and by trusting and respecting one another as professionals. Communication, flexibility, and humor will become the cornerstones of our working relationship.
