Story line
4 - Writing includes a well-developed story line and plot with all
of the appropriate elements:Ý exposition, climax, and
conclusion.
3 - Writing includes a story line that contains only two of the
elements of a plot.
2 - Writing includes a story line that contains only one of the
elements of a plot.
1 - Writing is difficult to follow and contains none of the
appropriate elements of a plot.
Paragraph Structure
4 - Writing includes paragraphs that are indented, have one main
idea, and a minimum of four supporting sentences.
3 - Most of the paragraphs are indented and have one main idea and
a minimum of four supporting sentences.
2 - Paragraphs are indented, but include more than one main
idea.
1 - No paragraphs are included.
Sentence Structure
4 - All sentences have a subject and a predicate with appropriate ending punctuation.
3 - Most sentences have a subject and a predicate with appropriate ending punctuation.
2 - Some sentences have a subject and a predicate with appropriate ending punctuation.
1- Sentences run on and are difficult to follow.
Grammar
