Jeopardy Game
Goals:
To demonstrate how many terms, and their meanings, the students remembered from the presentation earlier in the week.
Content Areas:
Language Arts - reading and answering questions
Communication Skills - answering questions orally
Science - vocabulary words dealing with shipping terms and the mechanics of the ships
Materials:
Jeopardy board
Chalkboard/chalk to tally team points
Procedure: (45 minutes - 1 hour)
2) Have students divide into two teams. Ask questions to one team of students. The students will each be asked an individual question. The student who is being questioned may choose the level of difficulty for the question he/she is asked. Once an incorrect answer is given by one member of the team, the teacher may then question the opposing team. Points can be given for each correct answer. If questions of varying difficulty are asked, different point values may be assigned (i.e. 1 point for easiest, 3 points for most difficult).
3) Team with the most points wins!
4) Note - this game may also be played without tallying points to eliminate the notion of competition.
