Day 1
Goals:
2. The students will tie dye their T-shirts.
Time:
Resources/Materials:
Note: The class will be broken up into two equal groups, with one half of the class working on the T-shirt design, and the other half will tie dye their shirts. Then they will switch groups.
Procedure:
2. Group A will work in small groups to create a possible design to print on a T- shirt.
3. Each group will create a design. At the end of the hour the class will decide upon one design that they want printed on their T-shirts.
4. The teacher will give brief instruction on how to tie dye the Caribbean T-shirts.
5. Group B will arrange rubber bands on their shirts and then dip portions of the shirt into the desired colors.
6. When they finish dying the shirts, they will hang them up to dry.
7. Then group A and group B will switch activities.
